Royal Twins

I'll admit in the last 24 hours I have gone royal crazy.
I could have cared less last week about any wedding, and now I can't stop googling things about this crazy family and Kate Middleton.
Did you know...
That Prince Williams' last name is
Mountbatten-Windsor. yea. I never knew he even had one haha!
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are cousins. ok like 2nd and 3rd cousins from two different sides of the family.  That's a little too much cross over if you ask me.  Good for William for getting an outsider, freshen up that gene pool!
Price Philip is OLD. he's 90! He's the longest living spouse of a Royal ever. cool huh?
He's Prince Philip and not King Philip because Queen Elizabeth was heir to the throne and husbands do not take on their wives roles as do wives when they marry an heir to the throne (so Kate will be Queen, but if something happens to William she wouldn't take over... the next heir in line would, like their son or daughter)
and there is a lot of pressure on royals to produce an heir.... so William and Kate will probably be having babies soon!  I read that they waited to get married until their late twenties because that is when they felt ready to have children.  Otherwise they would have got married years ago.  Makes some sense.... except that he will someday be the head of the church in England and I don't think that is wise advice to follow bibically..... anyway.

I also have said this before, but I'll say it again:
My husband looks like Prince William!
Not exactly, and much cuter and with more hair :)

What do you think?? Am I & the 4 people who told me so yesterday crazy??

a hat for every princess

Dear America, please take a hint from these royals and start wearing hats! and not just to the Kentucky Derby.

Some of my favorite and the most outrageous hats from today's royal wedding.
from people magazine.

those crazy cousins.

over the top and I LOVE it.

Gorgeous all the way around.

the Beckhams never disappoint

a standout in purple that's for sure!

Chelsy Davy, Harry's girlfriend... she is nothing like Kate, which is fitting because Harry doesn't seem to be anything like William!

and Her Majesty the Queen looking incredible in yellow, and not just for an 85 year old.

Stay tuned for more about hats later this week!
What do you think?  You love them too?

Wedding on my mind

While watching the Royal Wedding of William and Kate I got somewhat "homesick" for my own wedding.  We've been married nearly 2 years now!
2 incredible, perfect years.
I hear a lot of people say how difficult the first year is, and how difficult it is to move far away with only your husband, and how difficult marriage is in general...
apparently these people didn't marry Lee Coghill.
He makes loving him so easy and perhaps I'm easily adaptable, or we were just made for each other.
whatever the case may be we too had a fairytale wedding and I'll share a few pictures from the day with you. or a lot of pictures.

still the most beautiful dress I have ever seen.

my program fans I worked so hard to make.

we threw sprinkles!!

my hand painted shoes :)

8 flower girls and a ring bearer = chaos. lol

coloring pictures of Lee and I for the kiddos!

wedding favors that are from a plant that Lee's grandfather gave to his mom, who gave it to me!

 candy table!

some centerpieces

 happy happy happy!

:) and the best was my my little adopted grandma started a train around the reception! hahaha. crazy lady!!

So that was our day.  August 22, 2009.
it was beautiful, not-so-perfect, and budget friendly.

Did today's Royal Wedding make you long for your own wedding??

Art class with kids: color theory

I've been a bad blogger.
I need to get with it.
I've been so busy. so busy.

Remember when I said I got a job teaching Art and Crafts at the Montessori school?
yes. I love it.

Today I [attempted] taught them about the color wheel.
most of them got it and created beautiful color wheels!  I was so proud!
and we ventured into the area of monochromatic, complementary, and analogous color schemes... somewhat successfully.

I'm excited to build off of this and get them to know immediately what color is created when you mix blue and yellow. (most of them guessed... purple.)
they're only like 8 years old.
