New Year's Vow Renewal Decorations

I'm still alive! Sorry I've been so MIA lately the holidays were CRAZY!
My husband and I visited family in Canada and the US and our house has been FULL of people and fun stuff going on so I was way too busy to blog.
But alas the family has all gone home, my husband is in Canada for 8 weeks studying for the USMLE (licensing exam for doctors) and I am here waiting anxiously to be called for a job! shew.
anyway...
I've only been talking about my sister's vow renewal for an entire year and it's already came and went!
It turned out beautifully and went off without a hitch.
well aside from the music not working... microphone set up next to a CD player it was!
I'll share the pictures in steps... today the decorations!
We decided to do every table a little different and I am so please with how they turned out.  I didn't really stick to the plan so they are quite different than my inspiration images, but still beautiful and wintery.
Sometimes a girl just has to go with what's on clearance, right?
and don't worry, I found something to wear! at a yard sale! more about it later.

Color Duo: Blue and Orange

ok so finally we're to a color duo that isn't my "favorite" haha!
I don't typically like orange, but I saw a few images on pinterest that sparked my interest.
they are after all complementary colors (opposite each other on the color wheel) so they were destined to go together!
and while some may say this is quite similar to turquoise and coral like last week... but its also really different. promise.

zebra and floral?  yes!!!!

you know what I have noticed from scouring the internet for images of blue and orange rooms??
texture and pattern make it work. and that I love.

Color Duo: blue and red

This has always been one of my favorite color duos.
In junior high I may have had red bunk beds and blue walls with white stars sponged on...
This week I have really been homesick for America.
Although red and blue don't have to shout Americana!! 
but if you're not married to a Canadian like me.... shout away!!! :)

I particularly like vintage-y robin egg blue and red together.

Color Duo : Blue and Green

I'm going to have an ongoing series highlighting color combos.
I personally think any color can go with any other color.
honest.
it just takes a little tweaking and the right scale and prints!

My first two colors are blue and green.
but not just blue and green.
aqua and lime
navy and olive
turquoise and green apple
peacock and jade
you get the idea.

I was inspired by these two colors from - what else, a globe!
I probably should have said nature, huh?  the gorgeous blue Caribbean water and the lush green palms.
that too.

and where better to start than at Coastal Living?
that is what I'm doing after all!

I'm a sucker for a great wallpaper.

add some green to your home!
start with a beautiful bowl of green apples! (or starfruit, grapefruits, or green bananas for that matter!)
or a plant! EVERY room should have a plant!  even if it's a cactus you never, ever, have to tend to.
