Remember when....

I said I'd probably post a lot when I was in school because I'd be procrastinating??
can you believe that a person can actually be so busy there is no room for procrastinating?!
for real.

One of the reasons I've been so busy is because I've been jam packing my weekends with fun and adventures so I nearly kill myself during the week to fit it all in.  hence no time for blogging.
But I miss it so much.... I miss making things and taking pictures of my clothes and doing what I wear Wednesdays.... I surely can find time to do that right?? hmmmm maybe.

Here's my life of recent in instagram...

 I finally got a BLACK GLOBE!! because my husband is amazing and surprised me for our anniversary.

It turned fall on me.

and I got a hair cut. a major one. and I'm still crying about it.  missing those long locks. 

So the past 2 months of my life in a nutshell is lots of work. lots of writing papers. lots of planning for Grenada. lots of hair gone.

I finally went for it!
I got bold and cut bangs!!
April of last year I wrote a post about wanting bangs, haha... only 1 year later I actually followed through!

and I may or may not have gone several shades lighter :)
I got used to the Grenadian sun bleaching out my hair and wasn't so happy with the brown roots growing in.
I think that the blonde makes my eyes looks much bluer because I've had several people ask me since the hair cut if I have colored contacts in, nope!

I also like the way it dresses up my pony tail.  I have a lot of fine hairs that stick out or curl up in the front and it makes my pony tails look pretty messy so the bangs cover all that up!

When I went to school the next day one of my 5th graders exclaimed "you look like Barbie!!"
I'm not sure compliments get better than that...

new hair trick!

I saw this on pinterest the other day and I tried it out and it worked!!
I've always loved putting my hair in a french braid at night and taking it out in the morning and having some waves.
It's great if you need something done to your hair and don't have time to straighten or curl it all over.
I braided my hair into 5 big sections, two on top and three around the bottom and ran my straightener over the braids, twisting it a bit at the bottom so it curled a bit.
I sprayed it, let it cool down while I put on my make up, took out the braids, and it was done! lots of waves and body!
It looked just like the picture on pinterest.... but I didn't think to take a picture this morning.
I will say that it didn't last quite as long as the braid the night before method, 12 hours later my hair was a little flat, but it was great in a pinch!

Up until this my best trick was to use baby powder as dry shampoo!

haircut haircut

Hello world.
once again I've let too much time slip by... but I have a good excuse I promise.
I have something exciting that I've been working on....... and I will hopefully share that with you this week (yay!) and I've been begging for a job. hopefully that will be panning out SOON!

I did manage to get a haircut.
Seriously about time, right?

I have a before and after picture... but I swear my hair looks so much worse in this before picture than if ever did when I went out in public.  We'll blame it on having it brushed out right before the photo.

Truthfully...... a few days later I can't even tell the difference. haha.
I am no longer getting it stuck in weird places or stepping on it when I bend over.... but it's still pretty darn long.
I didn't go for the bangs..... what a chicken.
I might yet.... baby steps.

Fishtail braid

I'm so excited I finally taught myself how to do a fishtail braid!
I had one done this summer at a random makeover by Loreal Fashion in downtown Toronto.
and I've been meaning to learn how to re-create it myself.
well last night I googled it & found this awesome youtube video how to!!
and ta-da!
