Vintage Toys

Baby Coghill's room doesn't really have a set theme, other than colors, but I love all things vintage - so I have collected lots of vintage toys and books for him!  All are from thrift stores or yard sales - meaning they were really cheap, yay!

I think these play in well with the black, white, and bright scheme.  What about you?

oh and to tie in the black and white stuff I got this black and white rug on clearance at Ikea!
question - what do you call these?!
found, in box, unused $2 - best find ever? yes!
a little blurry... but I love lions.
Daddy isn't a doctor yet, but if this baby is born after February 28th he will be!!! :)
A few of my favorite books so far.  I have quite the collection I've been accumulating.... for years before this baby boy was even though of  :)

and remember our little radio flyer bike we used in the gender reveal!

We're even having a vintage toy themed baby shower! I can't wait!

Save the pink bathroom - reveal

I am so anxious to share some pictures of our apartment that I finally just picked the room that was most complete.  The bathroom.
I still have a few small things to do, namely - finding a clock, figuring out the blinds situation, and a toothbrush holder of some sort.

I'll share first the before pictures.  Everyone loves a Before and After.
The bathroom is pink. pink pink pink.

This is how it looked the day I moved in.  Curtain, rugs supplied by the landlord and our miscellaneous stuff we threw in their during unpacking.

And here it is today, about 3 weeks later.  This is me going with a vintage feel.
I really am not that happy with how it is turning out in these pictures.  I like it in person so much more.  I seriously smile every time I catch a glimpse of all those frames on the wall...
If you want to know what it looks like for real, you'll have to come on over!! :)

Shower curtain? no.... curtains I bought (4 years ago) that were too short for the giant windows in my living room here.  So.... it's covering up the heinous sliding doors.

Vintage Valentino

I made the find of all finds when I spotted this dress at a local second hand store.
I thought it was pretty just because of the polka dots, but when I saw the label said Valentino - Made in Italy my jaw dropped and I snatched it up.
Little did I know that when I got home and tried it on it would fit me absolutely perfectly....
It almost makes me a little sad to sell it but I seriously have no where to wear it to and I would LOVE to have that money towards at plane ticket to Grenada ;)
You can find it in my Etsy shop!

ignore the overly dramatic face, lol, these were taken with self timer and I didn't have a whole-lotta time for re-dos :)

Vintage Purses Galore

I've just listed several new items in my Etsy store!!
I've mostly focused on vintage items that I either previously owned or have found at thrift stores!
I hope to someday add more handmade items, but right now I'm too busy!!
I opened an Etsy store to hopefully earn some money to buy a plane ticket to visit my beloved Grenada!! I miss it so....

Here are a few of my favorites:

My best friend's house

My best friend Michelle recently developed a love for vintage things and she quickly went to work building a collection of items from local thrift and antique stores.
My favorite purchase of hers has been the old school desk we found for $16!

Isn't it adorable!  It came perfect as is.
We also arranged the photos of her family on the wall behind to form the gallery wall.

I'm going to be featuring other parts of her home in the future.  It is just too cute!
Remember the wreaths I posted the other day with the leopard print background??  That may have been the wallpaper in her kitchen!!  That's what kind of girl she is. so much fun.

a piece of home...

Hey guess who has reached 30,000 views? me!  I don't know if that's good or not, but it's an even number so it sounds big to me!

I have more pictures from my sister's A-dorable house!  Read my first post about the bunting around her home {here}.
The reason this wall in my nieces' room is so special is because this old window literally came from our childhood home.  My sister went up to our old house and took the window!  I am TOTALLY doing that as soon as I get home in December!
Background on that - our parents built a new home on the same property and our old house is still sitting there {and totally falling apart.... like it was when we lived in it.lol} so I will be de-constructing quite a few relics from the old place soon!

On to the window, like I said before my sister and I share a love of vintage goodness and her kids are lucky enough to be surrounded all of her amazing treasures!

And yes the baby girl who sleeps in this room is just as sweet as the decor eludes.

I {heart} lions

When I was in the 5th grade I became an aunt for the first time.
My mom bought my niece the most adorable stuffed lion you can possibly imagine at a thrift store.... and I wanted it.
I've never been one to really like stuffed animals, but this one is different... and Mom gave in and let me keep him.  He even made the trip to college with me... but sadly I had to leave him behind when I made the trek to Grenada.
The other night I called my mom to ask her to check what brand he is so I could google him & guess what?!
He was made in 1987 - the year I was born! It was meant to be!

tell the truth... have you ever seen anything cuter?

I decided that whenever I have a child someday their nursery will be designed after my lion.  I love the mix of vintage patterns & gender neutrality of a sweet little yellow lion.

Want more adorable lions?

who said they had to be yellow?

I am now finding myself posting this with hesitation... please don't let lions blow up like the owls did!
