ok so finally we're to a color duo that isn't my "favorite" haha!
I don't typically like orange, but I saw a few images on pinterest that sparked my interest.
they are after all complementary colors (opposite each other on the color wheel) so they were destined to go together!
and while some may say this is quite similar to turquoise and coral like last week... but its also really different. promise.
This week I'm going to show you a collage I made in a few simple steps
1. Choose collage from the top of the main Picnik page.
2. Choose the collage layout. I chose a 3 square format
3. Drag and drop the pictures you want to use from the bottom of the screen.
4. Continue dragging the pictures until the squares are filled.
5. Adjust the proportions and roundness of the squares if you wish. I wanted a more rounded look.
6. Change the background color if you wish. I chose white knowing the effect I would do later would add a patina to it.
7. Click DONE!
8. Click effects
9. I chose the 1960s effect because I think it feels really beachy and I love all things vintage. You can adjust the intensity of the effect by fadding it out. I faded it quite a bit.
10. Click text.
11. I chose the Santo Dumant (?) font and typed the words "sandy island" because that's where we were :)
12. You can adjust the size and position on the photo
13. Then I adjusted the color to black, the blend mode to overlay, and then faded it out to kinda resemble sand.
Last night the new episode of Project Runway premiered!!
Season 9, can you believe it? I feel like I've grown up with this show...
and even though I think I said last season that I wouldn't watch it again after that finale and the wrong person won...... here I am.
sucked.back.in.
My three favorites so far are :
Fallene because I think she's cute and different and I like her boots.
Anya because she's from Trinidad and has some Caribbean flair :)
Bert because I loved his first dress and I always root for the old guys.
I can't believe this is boxer shorts and a bed sheet. Love it Bert!! But I agree with Michael... that lip stick has got to go.
Can't wait for next week!! Did you watch?? if not & you live in the US you can watch it on Lifetime.com
Who is your favorite??
I can distinctly remember my favorite outfit from 5th and 6th grade.
my older sister picked it out for me.
it was a black pinstriped skirt and a yellow flowered shirt.
I probably wore it to church at least once a month. I thought the mix of patterns was the greatest thing ever. and I was so cool for wearing it.
Flash forward several years and I still love the combo of stripes and floral!
This girl has the scale right. Small floral print and large stripes. And she is also following another rule of coordinating the colors.
Last night my husband and I finally watched the newest Harry Potter movie. Unfortunately there is only 1 theater in Grenada and it is just now showing True Grit, no joke.
So we got the best pirated copy the internet could offer.
We watched all 8 movies this week and it was so much fun!
I had read all the books over the years so it is so interesting to me to see how it is portrayed on the big screen.
I have loved this series and characters for such a big part of my short life and now its over!
and to think I only started reading the book to impress a boy in the 10th grade. ha!
These colors just scream beach to me! I love the combo and I'm in a huge beachy phase right now as I prepare myself for the thought of moving back to the states and away from my beloved island.
Inspiration: This picture from our recent trip. I love this top its from the Gap, but I got it at a yard sale for .50cents!
and these images from pinterest have me swooooooooning.
