Color Wheel Necklaces

Among a million other things, I love the color wheel.
I had my first color theory lesson years ago and I just loved learning about the mixing of colors and different color schemes.

I was feeling inspired by this necklace I saw on pinterest.

And so I made two.
Because doesn't everyone need  two rainbow necklaces?

This one is made of buttons that I found here in Grenada.  I need to stock up on these awesome buttons before I leave!

Art class with kids: color theory

I've been a bad blogger.
I need to get with it.
I've been so busy. so busy.

Remember when I said I got a job teaching Art and Crafts at the Montessori school?
yes. I love it.

Today I [attempted] taught them about the color wheel.
most of them got it and created beautiful color wheels!  I was so proud!
and we ventured into the area of monochromatic, complementary, and analogous color schemes... somewhat successfully.

I'm excited to build off of this and get them to know immediately what color is created when you mix blue and yellow. (most of them guessed... purple.)
they're only like 8 years old.
